Flashcards (or flash cards) are one way to keep things alive in our memory. A notecard has a question on the front and an answer on the back. A person usually reviews a pile of flashcards, takes the first one reads the question, and tries to answer.

There are a lot of implementations of flashcards. Anki is a flashcard program that makes remembering things easy. Flashcards are more efficient than traditional study methods, to either decrease your time spent studying, or increase the amount you learn. Anki is available in different versions: online, Linux, Mac, Windows, Android, and iPhone, uses a remote server to keep study synchronized. Its interface allows text, images, audio, video, HTML, scientific markut with LaTeX, and screen readers.

Detailed configuration is possible. Different sets of cards within different domains can help embed items memory.
